Honoring Margaret

A beautiful ceremony was held in Queens, NY to remember Margaret and her many positives including: a warm heart, the ability to fix anything, great cooking (before she retired), knitting and crocheting skills beyond compare. She put those skills with her hands to good use making crosses out of plastic mesh and yarn and giving them to all she met. We've estimated that Margaret produced over 20,000 of these crosses, maybe as many as 30,000.

The crosses have found homes in the pockets and hearts of people all over the world. I know in my house at Christmas, we decorate the tree with Margaret's handiwork - ornaments and crosses!

She will be missed, but never forgotten.

News & Events

Soccer All-Stars Nicholas, once again, participated in the Soccer All-Stars and played in the Father's Day tournament. His team played very well and had a bunch of fun, but they found the competition to be equally good. End result: 1 win, 3 losses.

Swim SeasonBoth Allison and Nicholas are swimming in the Summer League. Practice is 5 days a week at 8:15 AM and meets are every Saturday at 8:00 AM. It's a big commitment, but both Allison and Nicholas are dedicated to becoming stronger swimmers and helping their team score big in the meets.

Junior Olympics What athletes these two - Allison and Nicholas - are becoming! They both qualified for the Junior Olympic Southeast Regional and traveled to NC to compete. Allison ran the 3000m and Nicholas threw the javelin - well, actually the "turbojav", a smaller, safer, plastic version of the javelin. Allison finished 19th in her race and Nicholas placed 4th in his event. Both are very proud of their accomplishments.

Dr. Susan Speaking of pride - John, Allison, and Nicholas are all very proud of Susan's dedication to learning the healing arts of Alternative and Complementary medicine. In July, she graduated from Capital University of Integrated Medicine with a Doctorate of Integrated Medicine. What a fantastic accomplishment! Way to go!
